Your Partner in Sample Preservation – From Collection to Results DNA · HPV · VTM · LBC · Feces · Amies · Cary-Blair
MandeLab provides a full range of specimen preservation reagents for clinical diagnostics and molecular research. Each solution stabilizes samples from collection to testing, ensuring reliable downstream results.
1. DNA Preservation Solution
Application: Buccal swabs and saliva samples for genotyping, individual identification, and sequencing projects.
Key Benefits: Enables ambient-temperature transport and storage—no cold chain required. Effectively inhibits nucleic acid degradation, ensuring reliable PCR and high-throughput sequencing results.
Composition: HBSS buffer system fortified with D-Glucose and Potassium Sorbate.
Product Codes:
· MTDTM001: 5 ml tube, prefilled with 2 ml solution
· MTDTM002: 2 ml tube, prefilled with 1 ml solution
2. HPV Preservation Solution
Application: Cervical exfoliated cell samples for HPV screening—suitable for both clinical settings and at-home self-collection kits.
Key Benefits: Rapidly fixes cervical epithelial cells, delays apoptosis, and stabilizes high-risk HPV nucleic acids during long-distance transport. Ensures high sensitivity and accuracy in molecular HPV testing.
Composition: Buffer salts, preservatives, and surfactants.
Product Codes:
· MTHTM001: 5 ml tube, prefilled with 2 ml solution
· MTHTM002: 10 ml tube, prefilled with 3 ml solution
3. Viral Transport Medium (VTM)
Application: Respiratory swab specimens for virus, chlamydia, and mycoplasma detection.
Key Benefits: Available in two formulations to meet diverse laboratory needs. The inactivated version (MTIVT001) neutralizes infectivity immediately after sampling, reducing biosafety risks while preserving nucleic acids. The standard viable version (MTSVT001) supports virus isolation and culture. Both maintain sample integrity at 2–30°C.
Composition: Viral protectants and antibiotics (viable formulation).
Product Codes:
· MTIVT001: 10 ml tube, prefilled with 3 ml inactivated medium
· MTSVT001: 10 ml tube, prefilled with 3 ml standard viable medium

4. LBC Preservation Solution
Application: Cervical exfoliated cells for liquid-based cytology (LBC) screening in gynecology and physical examination settings.
Key Benefits: Maximally preserves native cell morphology, prevents autolysis and cellular damage, and enables high-quality thin-layer slide preparation—significantly reducing missed diagnosis rates.
Composition: Phosphate-buffered solution with stabilizers and antioxidants.
Product Code:
MT-CTM001: 20 ml tube, prefilled with 12 ml liquid
5. Feces Preservation Solution
Application: Stool samples for gastrointestinal and intestinal screening programs, for PCR use only.
Key Benefits: Enables ambient-temperature transport, eliminating cold-chain dependency. Rapidly fixes exfoliated cells, inhibits contaminating bacterial overgrowth, and effectively slows sample spoilage.
Composition: Sodium chloride and absolute ethanol.
Product Codes:
· MTFTM001: 5 ml tube, prefilled with 2 ml solution
· MTFTM002: 10 ml tube, prefilled with 3 ml solution

6. Amies Preservation Solution
Application: Bacterial swabs collected from throat, wound, genital tract, and other clinical sites for microbiological culture.
Key Benefits: Maintains microbial viability during transport with a stable pH and low redox potential—particularly critical for preserving oxygen-sensitive anaerobes. Enhances bacterial culture detection rates.
Composition: Classic microbial transport medium with essential nutrients.
Product Code:
MT-LAT002, 10 ml tube, prefilled with 2 ml solution
7. Cary-Blair Transport Medium
Application: Stool specimens and rectal swabs for enteric pathogen culture, particularly effective for Salmonella, Shigella, Vibrio cholerae, Vibrio parahaemolyticus, Yersinia, and Campylobacter species.
Key Benefits: A semisolid, non-nutritive buffered medium recognized as the gold standard for enteric pathogen transport. Its low nutrient content prevents bacterial overgrowth while preserving organism viability. High pH (8.4 ± 0.2) protects pathogens from acid-induced destruction, and sodium thioglycollate maintains low redox potential to safeguard oxygen-sensitive strains.
Composition: Sodium chloride, sodium thioglycollate, disodium phosphate, calcium chloride, and agar in a buffered base.
Product Code:
· MTLCT001: 10 ml tube, prefilled with 3 ml semisolid medium
· MTLCT002: 10 ml tube, prefilled with 5 ml semisolid medium
